Our 9,000 square foot facility was opened in August 1997 and includes two surgery suites, an intensive care/recovery room and an isolation ward for infectious disease cases (to protect other pets). All efforts have been made to make our facility as modern as possible.
Our surgical facilities are well-equipped to handle nearly all types of general as well as orthopedic surgery. Various types of patient monitors are available and are routinely employed to monitor our patient's physiologic condition during surgery. A surgical technician is always in attendance to administer and control anesthesia and assist the surgeon. We have a consulting relationship with internal medicine and surgical specialist to handle special cases, if necessary.
Currently we have upgraded our Radiology (x-ray) equipment to be fully digital at both our locations. We have a main digital machine and a smaller digital dental x-ray machine at each facility. Being digital means we can easily email the images and it is also safer in general for pets as there are less retakes needed. At least once a month a radiology specialist comes to our hospital to review the X-rays. We also offer ultrasound procedures, which are performed at both locations with modern ultrasound equipment. Several of our doctors now have the expertise to perform this service and they take continuing education to stay abreast of updates in the industry. We are proud to be able to offer the latest in this technology, which enhances our ability to do diagnostic procedures that are minimally invasive to the patient.
